At Borås Art Museum, you can experience exhibitions featuring national and international contemporary art. The museum is located in the Cultural Center in central Borås and always has free admission. Borås Art Museum is responsible for public and urban art in Borås. Since 2008, Borås Art Museum has organized an international art biennial, and visitors have enjoyed magnificent and thought-provoking contemporary art at the museum and around the city's public spaces.

Borås Art Museum is looking for an engaged, collaborative, and versatile art educator who is passionate about conveying contemporary art to a broad audience! Together with the team at the art museum, curators, and artists, you will help create opportunities for people to engage with art - in exciting exhibitions such as the Borås Art Biennial 2026 and the major group exhibition in the winter of 2026/27. Borås Art Museum contributes to strengthening people's opportunities for cultural experiences, education, and creativity. You will work to increase knowledge and understanding of contemporary art and contribute to a wider audience through promotional and art-educational activities.

Your focus will be on the museum's hospitality, meeting the museum's visitors, and being responsible for a viewing program aimed at all ages. The role involves developing and implementing the viewing program, as well as compiling and conveying viewing materials to colleagues and the city's guides. The work also includes training and scheduling the museum's hosts. You will formulate, coordinate, and execute the museum's offerings for the prioritized target group of children and youth, through both program activities and the municipality's Culture Catalog aimed at schools. The art educator will be part of the museum's working groups for upcoming exhibitions, offerings in the museum shop, and the editorial group. You will also participate in working groups and networks in the Cultural Center, Borås city, and the region.

The position includes work some evenings and weekends, for example in hospitality and during openings or other program activities.

We are looking for a person who has an artistic and/or art history university/college degree, as well as documented experience in hospitality and art educational work. You have a very good knowledge of contemporary art and the contemporary art scene's offerings and development of art educational activities, participatory processes, and program activities. You can work both independently and collaboratively with others within and outside the art museum.

You have a pleasant demeanor and an ability to create good relationships with both visitors and colleagues. You are a creative and social person with great sensitivity and a particular interest in art communication to children and youth. You are innovative and carry out your tasks in a careful and structured manner.
